Chicago Blackhawks’ Record Streak: Could Another NHL Team Match It?

The Chicago Blackhawks' 24-game unbeaten-in-regulation streak was exemplary. 

While it is difficult to imagine that another team could put together a similar streak in the second half of the season—especially considering the level of parity in today’s NHL—I believe there are three teams that could.

Granted, the chances of this happening are very slim, but the Boston Bruins, Anaheim Ducks and Pittsburgh Penguins have the best chance of matching this incredible feat in the final part of the season. 

The Boston Bruins boast one of the most complete rosters in the NHL. 

They have three lines that are a threat to score, along with a supporting cast that is both tough and testy. The Bruins defensive corps is one of the best in the NHL. Along with the excellent play from Tuukka Rask in net, the team does not give up many quality scoring chances or goals against. 

Given the Bruins' depth—and ability to wear down opponents on most nights—they just might go on an unbeaten streak in March and April that rivals the Blackhawks' recent streak.
