Chicago Blackhawks Prospect Kyle Beach Coming on Strong

For those Blackhawks fans that haven’t heard, the Hawks organization has a number of strong prospects that might factor into the team’s roster in 2010-11. Arguably the best prospect, and a name fans should know, is Kyle Beach.

Beach played for the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL this season as a 20-year-old, and he put up outstanding numbers. The 6'3'', 210-pound forward scored 52 goals and added 34 assists (86 points) in just 68 games, and he continued his exceptional season in the first round of the WHL playoffs. In a seven-game series lost by the Chiefs on Wednesday night, Beach scored seven goals and had two assists.

Did I mention that, on top of averaging 1.27 points per game, Beach racked up 186 penalty minutes (an average of 2.74 per night).

There is a strong chance that Beach, now eliminated from the WHL playoffs, will be called up to Rockford. Seeing him in Chicago this year is a long shot because of the depth the Hawks have at forward at the NHL level (and because of salary cap restrictions), but there’s no question that Beach’s future is in Chicago, and that future could start soon.
