Just after offering Antti Niemi a chance to remain part of the team, the Chicago Blackhawks offered Niklas Hjalmarsson a qualifying amount, ESPN.com has reported.

Hjalmarsson, 23, will have until July 1 to accept the offer from the Hawks or will face restricted free agency.

With the deadline around the corner, it is easy to assume many teams would enjoy the opportunity to acquire Hjalmarsson.
