Chicago Blackhawks Farm Report: Kyle Beach Receives AHL Player of the Week

Chicago Blackhawks 2008 first-round draft pick Kyle Beach has taken his share of slings and arrows since being selected 12th overall.  A potential power forward with a tasty wrist shot, Beach has yet to fulfill the potential Dale Tallon saw when he selected the 6'3" left wing out of juniors.

A slow start in 2012-13 has kept Beach on the bottom of the depth chart. However, Beach had a nice pair of games for the Rockford IceHogs as they split a weekend home stand. The AHL recognized Beach's effort with the honor of the CCM/AHL Player of the Week.

Beach was one of a handful of IceHogs who stood out in a 6-3 defeat at the hands of the Chicago Wolves Friday night. A two-goal performance in that game was followed by a three-point game in Rockford's 6-3 win over the Lake Erie Monsters.

Beach assisted on the Brandon Bollig goal that opened Saturday's scoring as well as Shawn Lalonde's third period goal that tied the contest. Beach got a goal of his own midway through the period to put the IceHogs up 5-3. Beach was named Saturday's first star as well.
