Chicago Blackhawk Fans Need a Reality Check

Things looked as if the Blackhawks could possibly get out of a early season slump with two victories this weekend, one over Atlanta and the other against Edmonton. But instead the Blackhawks were only able to get one, after a huge meltdown in which they allowed two gaols in  a matter of 14 seconds in Sunday night's game against Edmonton.

It was a morale killer. It took any kind of momentum and positivity that the Blackhawks might have had if they'd started the week off with a victory.

It might be a tragic way to lose but it's nothing new for the Blackhawks. In seven-of-eight regulation losses this season, the Blackhawks have either been tied or winning before losing. The Blackhawks should be able to close the door against such a young team like the Oilers.

These mediocre performances are getting old, especially to a city that expects much better.

Maybe the Blackhawks were just over-hyped this season, or maybe their Stanley Cup stint was a one year deal and then they're done. I believe in the former.
