Carolina Hurricanes Prospect Updates: Tolchinsky, McGinn Burning OHL

As the Carolina Hurricanes' 2013-14 season grinds on, so do the campaigns of their many up-and-coming prospects in the system.

The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) has been dominated by 'Canes prospects, as both 2012 second-rounder Brock McGinn and undrafted summer signing Sergei Tolchinsky rank among the league's top 10 scorers, and 2012 third-rounder Daniel Altshuller leads all goalies in wins.

It's been a mixed bag for Hurricanes' youngsters elsewhere around North America. For all of the troubles of the AHL affiliate Charlotte Checkers—ranked 14th in the 15-team Western Conference—the NCAA is supporting a duo of other prospects well.
