Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price did not play in the team's season-opening game against the Buffalo Sabres on Oct. 13 due to the flu. However, he is expected to return to the lineup soon.

Latest on Price's Playing Status Wednesday, Oct. 19 Price said he is feeling better after losing five to seven pounds and hopes to play against the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday, per Amanda Stein of SportsCentre.

The Canadiens temporarily placed Price on injured reserve on Oct. 14, according to Kyle Bukauskas of Sportsnet.

The team announced Price has a severe case of the flu and is on an antibiotic regimen.

Latest on Price's Practice Status  Wednesday, Oct. 12 The team announced Price did not participate in practice Wednesday, and he did not travel with the team to Buffalo.
