Capitals vs. Flyers Video: Ray Emery and Braden Holtby Fight During 3rd Period

The last-place Philadelphia Flyers, in the midst of a beat down by the Washington Capitals on Friday night, wanted to let their fans know they still had some fight left in them. 

Consider that mission accomplished. 

Not long after Joel Ward netted his hat trick in the third period to put Washington ahead, 7-0, Wayne Simmonds went on a bit of a rampage and eventually dropped gloves with Tom Wilson. 

After those two squared off, things got really interesting, as you can see above (H/T to CBS Sports' Chris Peters for the video).

Flyers netminder Ray Emery, often dubbed "Sugar Ray" for his reputation as a fighter, sprinted the length of the ice to pick a fight with Caps goalie Braden Holtby. 

Holtby was not interested having a faceoff, but that didn't stop Emery from engaging, and the two proceeded to lock up.e

It was pretty easy to see why Holtby wasn't too keen on fighting, as Emery got a hold of him and landed several shots to the back of the head. The 24-year-old Holtby didn't seem to mind too much, though, as he was seen giving athletic trainer Greg Smith a big smile afterwar ...
