Saturday is the first showdown of the season between the lowly Toronto Maple Leafs and your Vancouver Canucks. The Leaf Nation is already getting pumped up.

Mike Gillis, the general manager of the Canucks, spoke to the Toronto media Friday. He discussed everything from the team's strong record, to signing up on Twitter, Roberto Luongo, Keith Ballard and stopping Nazem Kadri.

Keith Ballard is getting a breather to recover from his concussion. The team believes he is a long way from returning to form.

Gillis confirmed that Roberto Luongo is slated to start Saturday in Toronto. Cory Schneider is scheduled to start one game on the five game trip. Look for him to start in Buffalo next week.

Nazem Kadri has been called up by the Leafs and he will certainly get a scoring role. The Canucks are going to throw everything they have at the Leafs and won't take any game for granted. They came here to play.

Alex Burrows scored his first goal Thursday in Ottawa, and the Sedin twins will try to cash in again against the Leafs. The line produced six points (two points each) Thursday and has gotten on the scoreboard virtually every game.
