Bruins’ Matt Bartkowski Delivers Crushing Hit on Sabres’ Brian Gionta

A questionable hit during Sunday's game between the Buffalo Sabres and the Boston Bruins will likely be something that grabs the NHL office's attention.

Late in the first period, Bruins defenseman Matt Bartkowski knocked the Sabres' Brian Gionta off his skates with a high hit in the middle of the ice. Gionta pinwheeled, landed on his face and stayed down on the ice.

Buffalo's Marcus Foligno immediately came to his captain's defense and dropped the gloves with Bartkowski.

Bartkowski and Foligno each racked up quite a few penalty minutes for the sequence of events:

Gionta was able to skate off the ice under his own power, but he did not return to the game:

Should Bartkowski get suspended for this hit?
