Bruce Boudreau: Will the Capitals Coach Be Fired After the Winter Classic?

Business Insider recently posited the theory that the Washington Capitals head coach, Bruce Boudreau is safe in his position, for the time being.

The article makes a valid point in that firing Boudreau while the team is surrounded by cameras filming their every move for the HBO four-part special 24/7 would be a very disruptive move. As Business Insider states., "the messy situation that firing Boudreau would create would be delightful for HBO, it would be equally awful for the franchise."

The Capitals recently ended a seven-game losing streak on Sunday, December 19 with a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators.They followed the victory in Ottawa with a win over the struggling New Jersey Devils on Tuesday, December 21.  

Despite, enduring their longest losing streak during Boudreau's tenure as coach the Capitals are in first place in the Southeast Division with 44 points.

The Capitals next four games are against opponents that sit above the Devils and the Senators in the standings. Washington will close out December with games against the Pittsburgh Penguins,  the Carolina Hurricanes, and the Montreal Canadiens. They ...
