Brian Burke Could Use A Three-Way……..Trade That Is

There has been much speculation over the past year pertaining to the Toronto Maple Leafs acquiring Patrick Sharp via trade.

Most think that Sharp could be shipped to Toronto using Kaberle as the main trade bait, or possibly by taking on a bad contract which would partially relieve the train wreck that is the Chicago Blackhawks current 2010-2011 salary total.

I am a firm believer that Stan Bowman will have little to no interest in taking on any further salary (as attractive as Kaberle's 2010-2011 salary is), nor does Brian Burke want to take on Brian Cambell's mess of a contract for 5 more years.

I also believe Bowman will have zero interest in dealing with Burke if all he has to offer is a 3rd round pick and mid-tier prospects for his current talent, especially with 28 other teams salivating over the same players (i.e. Sharp, Versteeg, Byfuglien) and having much more to offer Chicago.

In my opinion, Burke's best shot in landing a guy like Sharp would be through a three-way trade, which would of course involve Kaberle as his contribution to the deal. I will use Buffalo as an example, although most of the other teams m ...
