Breaking Down the Race for the Final NHL Playoff Spots in Eastern Conference

The playoff race in the Eastern Conference is heating up with just a few games left to play in the 2013 NHL season.

Just four points separates the fifth-place Toronto Maple Leafs and the ninth-place Winnipeg Jets, so there are a lot of different ways that the final four seeds can be settled.

There are also two intense division title races going on in the East. The Washington Capitals are leading the Southeast Division with a one point advantage over the Winnipeg Jets, while the Boston Bruins hold a tiebreaker over the rival Montreal Canadiens atop the Northeast Division.

Five teams are still remaining in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Let's look at the odds of these clubs reaching the postseason and make some predictions.
