Montreal Canadiens 4, Boston Bruins 2; FINAL

The Bruins had a late surge again but it wasn't enough this time as the Montreal Canadiens held on for a 4-2 win in Game 3 of their second-round NHL playoff series.

Lars Eller scored an empty-net goal in the final seconds to clinch the victory for the Habs.

Boston trailed 3-0 after first period goals by Thomas Plekanec and P.K. Subban and a second period tally Dale Weise.

But Patrice Bergeron scored late in the second period to get Boston on the board and Andrej Meszaros added a goal with 2:15 left in the third and the Montreal lead was cut to one goal.

Boston had their chances, but Carey Price kept them off the board the rest of the way.

Montreal now leads the series 2-1. Game 4 will be played in Montreal Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.
