Boston Bruins Blank Ottawa Senators: Thomas Earns Second SO in as Many Games

The Boston Bruins at the Scotia Bank Centre go up against the Ottawa Senators. Chara once played here at Kanata, Ontario and was a force to be reckoned with.  He is still a force to be reckoned with...just now in a Black and Gold jersey.

 

First Period

David Krejci scored the first goal of the game on the poor clearing attempt.  The puck was being cleared by Chris Phillips and Mike Fisher seemed to instinctively reach for the puck, but it instead deflected directly to Krejci.  Krejci wasted no time snapping it past Brian Elliot. Bruins 1-0.

Shortly after that, the Sens were swarming all over the Boston net but couln't convert.

After all was said in the opening frame, Tim Thomas was busy facing 12 shots, and so far allowed nothing by since the Capitals’ Jason Chimera’s goal at the 9:27 mark in the third period back on October 21.  Elliot faced only six shots but got the wrong end of the stick in the period.

There were a couple of penalties that the Bruins earned which allowed the Sens to jump all over Thomas, but a lot of the chances were on the five-on-five.  Ottawa see ...
