Boston Bruins Acquire Nathan Horton in a Deal with Florida Panthers

It is being reported that the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers have come to terms on a trade. This was the trade made by the Bruins and Panthers.

 

To Boston Bruins

Nathan Horton (RW)

Gregory Campbell (C/LW)

 

To Florida Panthers

Dennis Wideman (D)

15th overall pick (2010)

Third-Round Pick (2011)

 

The highlights of this deal would obviously be Nathan Horton heading to Boston and Dennis Wideman heading to Florida.

Florida will be receiving a big boost to the blue line in Dennis Wideman. Dennis Wideman gives Florida a top-three defenseman who can put up points. It will be interesting to see him paired with Bryan McCabe or Keith Ballard. If this happens, I think you can be assured that Florida will have some great success at the point.

In the 2009-10 season with the Boston Bruins, Dennis Wideman put up 30 points (six goals, 24 assists), had a minus-14 rating, and recorded 34 penalty minutes in 76 games.
