The Anaheim Ducks may not have been on their game early, but they took advantage of their opportunities and came out with a 4-1 win in the first game of their Western Conference Final series against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Ducks were outshot in the first period but still had a 1-0 lead at the end of 20 minutes on a goal by defenseman Hampus Lindholm, and they added to the lead in the second period.

While Brad Richards scored late in the second period for Chicago, Anaheim goalie Frederik Andersen stopped 32 of 33 shots to keep the speedy Blackhawks at bay.

The Ducks have won nine of 10 games in the postseason, and they have outscored their opponents 17-3 in the third period.
