The St. Louis Blues reclaimed the edge in their first-round NHL playoff series with a 3-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

After a disappointing defeat at home in Game 2, it looked like the series was getting away from the Blues when they were whistled for three straight penalties in the first period of Game 3. The Blackhawks took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Brent Seabrook, but St. Louis evened the score before the end of the period with a power-play tally of its own—a blast from the point by Colton Parayko.

Chicago increased the pressure in the second period, outshooting St. Louis 24-13, and took a 2-1 lead on Artem Anisimov's first goal of the series, but the Blues surprised the normally resilient Blackhawks by rallying in the third.

Patrik Berglund tied the game at 5:15 of the final frame with a long shot that deflected off the leg of Hawks defender Michal Rozsival, then Jaden Schwartz scored the game winner with 6:38 to play while Patrick Kane sat in the penalty box after taking a double-minor for high-sticking.
