The Thrashers earned their third consecutive win with a 7-0 home victory against the Los Angeles Kings .  Atlanta improved its record to 9-6-1 for 19 points this season, with a 3-4-0 mark at Philips Arena .

The Thrashers and Kings played a tight game through 30 minutes before the Thrashers scored four goals midway through the second period. Evander Kane got the flurry started and he was followed by Kovalchuk, Bogosian and Afinogenov.

For 19-year-old Zach Bogosian , the second period goal was his seventh of the season and moved him into the goal-scoring lead among NHL defensemen.  The four-goal outburst sparked pushing and shoving in the corner and brought the crowd of 15,638 to its feet when gloves and sticks were dropped. It was by far the most exciting home game of the season for the Thrashers.
