Another Great Year Of Hockey In The Books

Well, we all saw it last night.

At last, the 2009-2010 season has come to an end, with the Blackhawks defeating the Flyers in Philly 4-3 in overtime to win the Stanley Cup in six games, their first time winning it since this guy was playing.

It's been a long 49 year wait for the Windy City, but the Blackhawks have finally hoisted the Cup. As for the Flyers, they made their first Stanley Cup since the 1996-1997 season, when this guy was playing.

However, the city of brotherly love lost their second straight chance for a title (The Phillies losing to the Yankees, see championship photo here ).

But looking back at a year of great hockey, this was one of the best I have seen. It sucks that my Capitals crapped the bed in the first round.

But enough of my whining, let's see what we have all learned.

THING #1: The Capitals are the new Sharks.

The Capitals finished the season with the best record in the regular season, wayyy ahead of everyone else since they set the second longest winning streak in NHL history with fourteen consecutive wins.
