Anaheim Ducks: Teemu Selanne Reaches Impressive Career Milestone

Teemu Selanne aka “the Finnish Flash” has reached a giant landmark on his journey through the NHL record books.  The 40-year-old Anaheim Duck collected his 611th NHL goal earlier this week.  That impressive landmark put Teemu into 15th place in all-time NHL scoring, ahead of NHL legend and Hall of Fame member, Bobby Hull.

The nine-time NHL All-Star, Teemu is a natural sniper.  Over his career, Teemu won the 1999 Rocket Richard Trophy for most goals in a season and before the award existed, he tied for the lead or led the league two more times.

In 1988, the Winnipeg Jets selected Selanne with the 10th pick in round one and finally made his debut in 1992.

In the 1992-93 season, Teemu set a rookie standard for goals.  Teemu found the back of the net 76 times while adding 56 assists for 132 points.  Those numbers made Selanne a clear choice for the Calder trophy as the NHL’s rookie of the year.

Over Selanne’s NHL career, he has played for the San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, as well the previously mentioned Winnipeg Jets and two stints in Anaheim with the Ducks.
