Alexander Ovechkin Hints NHLPA Wants to Close a Deal

Alexander Ovechkin took to Twitter today to perhaps hint that the NHLPA wants to close a deal with the owners. The only issue here is he states that the league isn't budging from their most recent offer.

Here is his tweet:

Guys want meet anytime and try to make a deal !! They just say take last deal or no meeting!! #NHLPA #dowhatwehavetodo.

— Alex Ovechkin (@ovi8) December 20, 2012 What I take from what he said is that the league doesn't want to meet with the players if they aren't going to accept the owners' latest proposal.

It was only the fourth time Ovechkin expressed anything on Twitter since calling the owners "clowns" back in early November.

Ovechkin's comment pretty much implies that this is a take-it or leave-it scenario from the owners.

It's hard to tell if the owners are trying to bluff the players again. Whatever they are trying to do is going up against a clock that is quickly ticking towards the season's doomsday.

With how everything is going, it doesn't seem like we can have too much optimism as fans. I simply find it disturbing that they can't reach an agreement.
