A Father’s Eyes- Some Of The Best Blackhawks Of My Dad’s Time Til Mine

In honor of Father's Day, I find it fitting to praise my dad for many reasons: love, care, nurturing, and of course, inheriting his sports teams. The one that always brought us closer was the Chicago Blackhawks. To this day, whenever the Hawks are on, we watch them together (if possible). Chores need to be done? Garbage need to go out? Can't do it, Hawks are on. Since the mid to early 1990's, I have soaked in all that my dad knew of the team, and started to learn on my own about them so I could develop my base for future fandom. One quality he always taught about family and sports was to know your history. I took that to heart, as the foundation of the Blackhawk franchise bridged us to today, now the hometown of the Stanley Cup. Just as I have Toews, Kane, JR, and believe it or not, Denis Savard, my dad had his favorites. The following are some of the many trailblazers for this historic franchise. I hope some of them make you remember what your father taught you about the game of hockey. Without my dad, I would not be the man or Hawks fan I am today. Thank you, dad. You have changed my life forever.Begin Slideshow
