Eight-year-old Braden Neinaber got to make his dream a reality over the weekend when he met the Washington Capitals, including his idol, goalie Braden Holtby. Neinaber suffers from Langerhans cell histiocytosis, for which he has undergone multiple surgeries.
The Caps greeted Neinaber with his own custom jersey and hockey stick. After meeting the team and being led around the locker room, he got his chance to take the ice. The kid from Saskatchewan had no issue scoring with finesse and even decked enforcer Tom Wilson in a brawl of sorts.
Hat tip to Chuck Gormley of CSN Washington for the story.
