2010-11 NHL Season Preview: Projecting This Year’s Major Award Winners

With the NHL season just two days away, I am going to project this years major award winners.

 

Hart Memorial Trophy (MVP)

Sidney Crosby - Sid the Kid had another great season last year and deserved to win this award in my opinion. Look for Crosby to come out with another spectacular season and add some more hardware to his large trophy case.

 

Lady Byng (Basically a skilled player who doesn't wine or take many penalties)

Pavel Datsyuk - Every year Datsyuk and St. Louis are among those considered for this trophy. St. Louis won it last year, now it is Datsyuk's turn.

 

Vezina (Best goaltender but in most cases you have to make the playoffs)

Henrik Lundqvist - Hank has been a top flight goaltender for several years now; however, he has always been on an average team. If the Rangers are ready to take the next jump Lundqvist could find himself with some new hardware in his trophy case.



 

Calder (Rookie of the year)
