Yao Ming Gets a Complement: Houston Rockets Sign Free Agent Brad Miller

The Houston Rockets stressed their admiration to sign a free agent months ago. After Chris Bosh headed to Miami (no not South Beach—they play in Downtown Miami), and virtually everybody else signed, things began to look rather bleak. 

Today, things got much brighter in the Bayou City. 

As announced by ESPN's Mark Stein, Brad Miller and the Houston Rockets have agreed to a three-year contract worth around $15 million.

Miller comes in with veteran experience that will not only be reflected on the court, but in the locker room as well. 

The 34-year-old center averages 11.7 points and 7.5 boards for his career. Last season, his numbers were down but he showed that he can still play. 

Perhaps the best part of the signing is finally having a good backup center for Yao Ming. Yao has often been overworked and tends to tire out near the end of the season.

Hopefully the addition of Miller can keep Yao on his toes throughout the season and into the playoffs.
