With K-Mart Injury, Bird Man Could Finally Soar

With reports surfacing that Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin could miss extensive time with a patella injury, the light that has been shining on Martin's dunks and aggressive play all season could soon be shining on the man with the big hair.

That's right, folks. While it's due to unfortunate circumstances, "The Bird Man " could begin to see some well-deserved minutes, as Martin rests for the next 48 hours and decides on how to treat his injury.

Marc J. Spears called Martin's knee injury "jumper's knee" in his report for Yahoo! Sports and said that Martin would ponder three different treatments: rest, injections, or surgery.

Rest could have Martin miss anywhere from a week to up until the end of the regular season, while surgery would surely keep him out of the regular season and could affect his status for the playoffs.

Injections, on the other hand, could help K-Mart stay in action within the next week or so, but could bring more risk to further injury.

Regardless, it's looking like Chris Anderson (Bird Man) will be getting a heavy dose of minutes, and judging by the production he put up in just under 27 minutes in ...
