Win Butler Named MVP for 2016 NBA Celebrity Game: Comments and Reaction

Arcade Fire lead singer Win Butler was named the MVP of the 2016 Celebrity All-Star Game in Toronto on Friday, as Team Canada won 74-64 over Team America.

Butler shot 6-of-17 from the floor while scoring 15 points and grabbing 14 rebounds, per the Guardian, and announced after the game that he will retire from celebrity competition, per Raptors HQ.

That same postgame interview was cut short by ESPN's Sage Steele when it took a political turn. Dan Hanzus of NFL.com provided video of the exchange:



The NBA provided this highlight of Team America coach Kevin Hart looking displeased after Butler made a basket to give Team Canada a 16-14 lead:



Butler scored eight points in last year's Celebrity Game, and his brother Will thought he was robbed of the MVP award. That wasn't the case this year, as his double-double got him the praise and postgame fun, per Joseph Casciaro of The Score:
