What Lesson Can The Lady Bucs Teach Lebron?

On my radio show back in March, I asked former CBU women's basketball coach Scott Groniger a question about the comeback the Lady Bucs made against nationally-ranked Arkansas Tech.

"They always say coaches have these great speeches, but it was our players that won that game for us" he told me.

He didn't mention a single player when I asked him that question.

But he did mention one thing: a team.

In Game 5 of last night's Eastern Conference Semifinals, it was clear to everyone that Lebron was the best player out there on the floor.

That's just the obvious being stated and rehashed, just like the fact that Jessica Alba is hot.

But the underlying fact is this: while Lebron is the best player, it's all about the team.

That was the same thing Bo Schembechler used to say to his Michigan team.

The same thing that has been preached in Indianapolis with Butler basketball with coaches like Brad Stevens, Thad Matta, and Todd Lickliter the last ten years.

Team basketball, not individual players, is what wins you games and most importantly, championships.
