Watch Danilo Gallinari’s Bold off-the-Backboard-to-Himself Alley-Oop

Why play five-on-five when you can play with six?

Some guys need a point guard, others just need some glass.

Danilo Gallinari's self alley-oop is a clever yet effective play that I want to see attempted more often.

Gallo is one of my top-five favorite players for reasons like this. He always finds a way to surprise as a scorer, whether it's spotting up from 30 feet, throwing down vicious dunks attacking the rim or going off the backboard to himself.

Plus, he was rumored to be dating Michelle Trachtenberg when he was back in New York, which is just funny in itself if you've ever seen Harriet the Spy.

Few would attempt this play down two in the fourth quarter. But Gallo is a fearless competitor—sometimes to a fault.

After watching Saturday morning highlights, you can be assured that Jamal Crawford is smiling somewhere.
