Washington Wizards Debate: Gilbert Arenas or John Wall

John Wall is considered a unanimous number one pick in NBA mock drafts. Since it is a foregone conclusion that Wall will be drafted number one, I have decided to discuss one of the more interesting position battles: Gilbert Arenas vs. John Wall assuming that Wall is drafted by the Wizards.

This will be a good battle between what many draft experts consider the next phenom in John Wall and a declining but nonetheless still decent veteran in Gilbert Arenas.

Arenas has a reputation of performing well in the clutch, which is one factor that John Wall does not excel at.

When Kentucky was playing South Carolina, they were down by five points with two minutes left in the secondnd half. Wall missed a key reverse layup that would have put them in within three points. Instead, a red hot Devan Downey put the nail in the coffin with a two pointer with one minute to go. Kentucky eventually lost 68-62.

However, Wall does have an ability to score quickly, similarly to Arenas. But one thing that could nail Wall in the long run is his criminal activity. Wall was arrested in high school for breaking and entering.
