December 11th, 2016 by Jared Johnson Leave a reply »
The Golden State Warriors opened the fourth quarter with a 25-4 run to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves by a score of 116-108 on Sunday. Golden State moved to 21-4 on the season, and the Timberwolves have fallen to 6-17.

Facing the possibility of losing back-to-back games for the first time in 111 contests, the Warriors ramped up their defensive intensity in the fourth quarter and started to get more shots in transition. Minnesota, meanwhile, squandered its 10-point lead going into the final period by settling for poor shots on offense and leaving open shooters on the other end.

The Warriors' Klay Thompson led all scorers with 30 points, including several key baskets in the fourth quarter. Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry also added 22 points apiece. For the Wolves, Karl-Anthony Towns was the biggest star, collecting 25 points and 18 rebounds. Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine both chipped in 25 points, as well.

Golden State plays next in New Orleans against the Pelicans on Tuesday, while the Timberwolves will visit the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.
