Warriors Tie Bulls’ Record for Most Wins in NBA Season, Set New Road-Wins Mark

Add two more accomplishments to the Golden State Warriors' record-breaking season.

On Sunday, the Warriors tied the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls for the most wins in a single season in NBA history with 72, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 92-86 at the AT&T Center.

Per ESPN Stats & Info, the Warriors also broke the NBA record for the most road wins in a single season (34), breaking the 1995-96 Bulls' mark. 

After a huge win off a back-to-back, the reigning NBA champions have a shot at eclipsing the 1995-96 Bulls in the record books Wednesday, when they will face the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Spurs, who boasted a perfect 39-0 mark entering Sunday's game, were attempting to become the first team in NBA history to go 41-0 at home, but Golden State finally put a dent in that.

Head coach Steve Kerr's unique squad has made setting records a habit this season. The Dubs' 24 straight wins to open the season set an NBA record—and they weren't done there.
