The Golden State Warriors became the first team in NBA history to make 1,000 three-pointers in a season Sunday.
It was fitting that point guard Stephen Curry—who broke the single-season record for three-pointers made in February—connected on the milestone shot in the second quarter of his team's game against the Portland Trail Blazers:
The accomplishment is just one in a long list for Golden State, which includes the most wins to start a season (24), the most consecutive home victories (54) and the most wins in a season in franchise history (69 and counting).
Entering Sunday, the Warriors were five wins away from breaking the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls' NBA record for the most wins in a regular season. With the 136-111 win, they need to go 4-1 to close the season with 73 wins.
