Sacramento Kings vice president of basketball operations Vlade Divac has reportedly become overwhelmed with his additional general manager duties, and he and team owner Vivek Ranadive are currently searching to find someone to take on the GM position full time next season.

General Manger Duties Too Much for Divac

The Kings promoted Divac to general manger in August, five months after he joined the team. Citing league sources, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported Divac and Ranadive were "using All-Star Weekend in Toronto to canvass league officials on possible candidates to hire as general manager."
Wojnarowski noted Divac "has been overwhelmed with the complexities of the collective bargaining agreement and the sophisticated ways with which most NBA organizations are run now."
Although the Kings have committed to keeping head coach George Karl for the rest of the season, Wojnarowski reported they do not intend to bring him back next year. If the Kings hire a new general manager, Divac would likely remain as vice president and help find a new coach.
