Victor Oladipo Injury: Updates on Magic Guard’s Knee and Return

Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo is suffering from a sprained right knee and it is uncertain when he will be ready to return to the court.

Oladipo Out vs. Hawks Sunday, Jan. 17 Brian K. Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel reported that Oladipo will not play on Monday against Atlanta.

Oladipo Vital to Orlando's Success This is a difficult blow if Oladipo is out for significant time, especially for a young Magic team that has strived to surprise this season as a playoff contender in the Eastern Conference.

The former Indiana Hoosier scored 17.9 points, dished out 4.1 assists and recorded 4.2 rebounds per game last season as an explosive playmaker who can hit from three-point range, get out in transition and attack the rim in half-court situations. Thus far, he is averaging 13.5 points, 4.0 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game in the 2015-16 campaign.

While Oladipo has a high ceiling on the offensive side, perhaps his best trait is his defense because he is quick enough to match up with point guards and big enough at 6’4” to defend opposing shooting guards. What’s ...
