It appeared no one told the Utah Jazz or Los Angeles Lakers that this was just a preseason game.

Utah won a chippy battle that went to overtime and included three technical fouls, one ejection and constant chirping, 117-114.

With Derrick Favors resting, and Gordon Hayward and Rudy Gobert joining him after the first quarter, it was up to Alec Burks to lead the way. That's exactly what he did with 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting, six assists and five rebounds.

Rodney Hood also provided a lift on offense, scoring 21 points and shooting 3-of-7 from three-point range.

Los Angeles was led by Lou Williams, who scored 20 points on 4-of-13 shooting, and Roy Hibbert, who scored 16 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and coaxed Trevor Booker into a slap that led to Booker's ejection.

Utah's next game is Friday, October 9, on the road against the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers will also be on the road, Thursday, October 8, against the Toronto Raptors.
