Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue wants to change up the game plan heading into Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
More specifically, he wants LeBron James to speed it up on offense.
"I just told LeBron I need him to play faster," Lue said, per Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com. "I need him to pick up the pace for us offensively, getting the ball out and just beginning to play faster."
The Cavaliers were held below 90 points for the second time this postseason in Game 1, which they lost 104-89 on Thursday at Oracle Arena. Cleveland was also called for two shot-clock violations in the first half, which prompted Lue to hold a long film session Friday, according to Windhorst.
Cleveland took a 68-67 lead with two minutes, 12 seconds remaining in the third quarter after a James layup, but that was its last lead of the ballgame. Golden State closed the contest by outscoring Cleveland 37-21 in the final 14 minutes.
