Ty Lawson to Reportedly Enter 30-Day Rehab Facility Following DUI Arrest

Troubled Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson will reportedly enter rehab following his arrest Monday for a DUI. 

According to TMZ Sports, Lawson appeared in a Denver court for a hearing stemming from a January DUI arrest, and his lawyer announced the 27-year-old will begin treatment at a rehab center in Southern California starting Saturday. 

According to that same report, the judge placed Lawson on monitored sobriety, which requires him to "routinely blow into a stationary B.A.C. monitoring device."

GM Tim Connelly spoke about Lawson, via Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, "Ty's going through a tough time right now but we're all behind him. Ty's a really good person. He's a Nugget so when one of our guys goes through issues. We're behind him."


Lawson, who has spent his entire six-year NBA career in Denver, has had a troubled past. He was arrested in August 2013 following a domestic violence incident, but those charges were later dismissed.
