Point guard Ty Lawson is free to sign anywhere on the heels of his buyout from the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, as reported by ESPN.com's Calvin Watkins, and the 28-year-old veteran has already been linked to a new team.

Knicks Reportedly Have No Interest in Lawson  Wednesday, March 2  Marc Berman of the New York Post, citing an NBA source, reported that the New York Knicks had "internal discussions" regarding Lawson but "have decided not to make a play."

According to ESPN.com's Ian Begley, Knicks interim head coach Kurt Rambis revealed Tuesday that the possibility of signing Lawson had been discussed.

Lawson Had Struggled Mightily Prior to Buyout The Rockets officially announced they waived Lawson on Tuesday night, just seven months after they acquired him in a trade with the Denver Nuggets.



Lawson is having the worst season of his career with averages of 5.8 points, 3.4 assists and 1.7 rebounds per game.
