Point guard Ty Lawson could reportedly be on his way out of Houston as the Rockets fight for their playoff lives.

Report: Rockets, Lawson Exploring Buyout Friday, Feb. 26 According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, citing league sources, the Rockets and Lawson's agent have started talking about buyout scenarios for the 28-year-old. 

Per Mark Berman of Fox 26, Lawson's agent, Happy Walters, confirmed there have been discussions with the Rockets about a buyout:



Wojnarowski noted the Rockets could use potential savings from Lawson's salary to explore adding players who become available during the buyout period. 

Lawson, a former first-round pick, has been a disappointment in his first season with the Rockets. He's averaging a career-low six points per game and shooting a career-worst 38.9 percent from the field while playing less than 23 minutes per game.
