Truth Is: Kobe Bryant and LeBron James Should Learn From Paul Pierce

Paul Pierce knows what it's all about. The playoffs are where flying elbows are going to loosen teeth, blood is going to be wiped off the court, and noses are going to be re-broken.

Pierce understands that being a winner means not shutting it down if it's not your day, not deferring to your teammates in crunch time because you want the media to paint you as "selfless." 

He is relentless in his pursuit of a world championship. It would serve LeBron James and Kobe Bryant well to take notes.

Pierce has been the most underrated player in the NBA for quite a while now. And if you'd ask him, he'd probably say he's OK with that.

Everyone knows about the 2008 NBA finals where Pierce was named MVP after basically making Kobe Bryant look like he didn't belong on the same court with him. And if you sit down and think about it, that sounds impossibly hard to do.
