The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that for the Philadelphia 76ers to acquire Tracy McGrady , they would have to give up Andre Iguodala and some young prospects. At 9-23, Philadelphia is desperate to get fans in the seats and bringing in McGrady would help to do just that.

He also has a $21.1 million expiring contract that would help the 76ers have salary-cap flexibility. All of this sounds good...if you are a business man. From a basketball standpoint, it makes virtually no sense for either teams.
What would the Houston Rockets get in Andre Iguodala? Andre Iguodala is a border-line franchise player. He is still capable of becoming an all-star one day. Houston would have to say yes if Philadelphia made them an offer. The only problem for Houston is that Iguodala plays the same position as two of Houston's best players.

Trevor Ariza is a very similar player to Iguodala in the sense that they are both slasher's who can play great perimeter defense. Obtaining Iguodala would also prevent defensive mastermind Shane Battier from getting playing time. Putting Battier to the bench would prevent Houston from being able to spread the floor as well.
