Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns posted a historic stat line in Wednesday's 106-94 overtime loss to the Dallas Mavericks, becoming the youngest player (20 years and 66 days) in NBA history to record 25 or more points, 15 or more rebounds and five or more blocks in the same game, per Elias Sports Bureau (via ESPN Stats & Info).
The first overall pick from the 2015 NBA draft actually finished with 27 points, 17 rebounds and six blocks in 37 minutes, adding three assists, a steal and three turnovers.
Previously, Shaquille O'Neal was the youngest player to post a 25-15-5 stat line that included blocks, having accomplished the feat five separate times during his 1992-93 rookie season, with the first of those performances coming at the age of 20 years and 291 days, per Basketball-Reference.com's play index.
While not quite on the level of a young Shaq as a low-post scorer, Towns is one of the more impressive rookies in NBA history, offering the kind of well-balanced game that is extremely rare even for veterans.
