Toronto Raptors’ DeMar DeRozan Makes All-Star Ballot, but Can He Make the Team?

Toronto Raptors starting shooting guard DeMar DeRozan made this years All-Star ballot in what promises to be the first of many ballot nominations.

DeMar DeRozan has flashed his amazing potential but has not put it together on a consistent basis. Yet.

DeMar DeRozan has shown that he has improved his game, achieving career-high single-game numbers of 26 points and five assists.

He is still a very raw player, and coach Jay Triano went as far as to say that he is still a "university player," admitting that he is not close to a finished product but gives Toronto Raptor fans hope for the future.

He has shown glimpses of the ability to become a premier scorer in this league.


Does He Deserve To Be An All-Star?

No.

Not this year at least.

DeMar DeRozan still has a long way to go before making the All-Star squad, but being named to the All-Star ballot is exciting enough for any hardcore Raptor fan.

Yes, it's a bit tainted because Linas Kleiza managed to make the ballot as well, but we’ll take all the good news we can get in Raptorland.
