Tony Parker Injury: Updates on Spurs Star’s Knee and Return

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker will miss extended time because of a knee injury originally suffered in the team's season-opening win against the Golden State Warriors.

Parker Expected to Miss at Least One Week Friday, Nov. 4 Per Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich announced he expects Parker to miss at least one week.

"I think he will be out for a week or so, and that will be it," Popovich said. "He hurt his knee against Golden State [in the season opener on Oct. 25]. He hyperextended it, and it’s just bruised basically, so we are giving him time to heal."

Tim Duncan was the first of San Antonio's Big Three to depart when he retired in July, but 39-year-old Manu Ginobili and Parker will be gone sooner or later.

Popovich has been good about managing his veterans' minutes in the past, and Parker especially has seen his time on the court lessen over the years.
