San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker will miss at least one game as he continues to nurse a minor knee injury.

Latest on Parker's Playing Status Friday, Dec. 2 According to Project Spurs' Paul Garcia, head coach Gregg Popovich told reporters Parker will miss Friday's game against the Washington Wizards. 

Parker is no longer the electric playmaker he was during his peak seasons. A 16-year career combined with the Spurs' annual trips to the postseason have taken a collective toll on his 34-year-old body. But the team figures to lean more heavily on him once the playoffs roll around.

While the four-time NBA champion has been able to avoid major injury setbacks throughout his career, he hasn't played more than 72 games in a season since the 2010-11 campaign. The most recent issue was a knee injury that forced him to miss a few games in early November.

His absences are usually a combination of minor lingering ailments and the Spurs' efforts to get their aging veterans rest during the course of a long season. Popovich likes to give his older players an occasional game ...
