Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen left Friday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after suffering a knee injury, according to Ronald Tillery of the Commercial Appeal.

Allen Won't Return vs. Timberwolves

Allen left just before halftime and won't return, per Tillery. He finished with nine points, two assists and two rebounds in 13 minutes before P.J. Hairston replaced him in the lineup.
Allen, 34, has made a career as one of the best defensive stoppers in the NBA. His time in Memphis has been fruitful, as he's found a home with one of the league's most physical, defensively sound teams.
The team will miss Allen's defense if he's out of action for extended time. He's averaged double-digit points just once in his career, so the Grizzlies will have little issue replacing his offensive output, but they'll be weaker on the other end of the court without him.
Allen is averaging 6.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game this season.
