Tobias Harris Injury: Updates on Magic Forward’s Ankle and Return

The Orlando Magic announced starting small forward Tobias Harris will be sidelined for Monday’s road contest against the Atlanta Hawks because of a sore left ankle.

Harris to Remain on Inactive List Monday, Feb. 8    Harris also missed Sunday’s game against the Hawks in Orlando. The Magic announced he will remain on the inactive list for the time being as he continues to recover from the ankle injury suffered in Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

After rolling his left ankle Friday, Harris remained in the game until he gashed his head taking a hit from teammate Victor Oladipo on a layup attempt. Yet by Sunday, after receiving seven stitches to close the head wound, he still experienced lingering pain in his ankle that prevented him from being able to push off his left leg, per Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel.

"The ankle is just not good enough to be able to play on it,” Harris said Sunday, per Robbins. "Obviously, I can play through some type of discomfort, but it's just not feeling right."
