The Minnesota Timberwolves are searching the market for a new head coach after relieving Sam Mitchell of his duties Wednesday.

T-Wolves Set Sights on Two Big Names Friday, Apr. 15 Sources told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski on Friday the Timberwolves have set up meetings with Tom Thibodeau and Jeff Van Gundy.

According to those sources, the meetings are expected to take place "in the next few days."

Thibodeau and Van Gundy are two of the biggest names on the coaching market, although neither was in the league this year.

Thibodeau saw his five-year run as the Chicago Bulls head coach come to an end in 2015 after compiling a 255-139 record in Chicago.

Though that was his first head coaching gig, he has been coaching in the league for more than two decades, starting as an assistant with the Timberwolves in 1989-90.
